YOUR PRE-TRADE ROUTINE

After a losing trade, make room before the next decision

The next trade can start to feel like a way to undo the last one. If you notice that urgency, use it as a cue to pause and revisit your plan before making another decision.

01

Notice what changed

Ask yourself what is driving the next action: a setup from your plan, or a desire to get back to even? You are not trying to predict the result. You are checking whether your reason for acting has changed.

02

Step away from the order screen

Give yourself a short break from placing orders. Relax your grip on the phone or mouse and breathe at a comfortable pace. There is no need to force a breathing rhythm or finish a timer.

03

Return to a rule you already chose

Read or listen to your own reminder. For example: “A loss does not change my criteria for the next trade.” Compare what you are about to do with your written plan, including any stopping conditions you set beforehand.

04

Leave a note for your next session

Write one sentence about the moment: what happened, what you felt, and which reminder you used. You can turn that observation into a clearer principle later. Choosing to end the session can also be part of following your plan.

Try a spoken reminder

A loss does not change my criteria for the next trade.

Turn this guide into one action

  1. Write your situation and one action below.
  2. Copy the sentence into the app’s add-principle screen and save it.
  3. Read or listen to that principle before your next trading session.

Notes are not saved or sent to a server. Print or save as PDF before leaving. This checklist is not a score for deciding whether to trade.
