YOUR PRE-TRADE ROUTINE
You wrote your trading rules. How do you return to them?
A rule saved in a notebook can disappear from attention when the market gets busy. Instead of adding more rules, make the ones you already have easier to find, hear and use.
Separate a rule from a slogan
“Trade better” describes a wish. “I write down the reason for entering before I place an order” describes an action. Look through your list and rewrite vague intentions as actions you can recognize.
Keep the relevant rules close
A long list is not always the right list for today. Choose reminders that fit the session and the mistakes you are working on. Keep your full collection available, but make your daily selection easy to revisit.
Try listening, not only rereading
Hearing a sentence can be a different way to revisit familiar words. Listen at the start of your session or during a break. If a phrase feels awkward, shorten it. Your own wording matters more than sounding like a motivational quote.
Review the action separately from the outcome
At the end of the session, ask whether you followed the rule and what got in the way. A profitable outcome and a well-followed process are different observations. Use what you notice to refine tomorrow’s reminders.
Try a spoken reminder
I review whether I followed my rules before judging the result.

Turn this guide into one action
- Write your situation and one action below.
- Copy the sentence into the app’s add-principle screen and save it.
- Read or listen to that principle before your next trading session.
Notes are not saved or sent to a server. Print or save as PDF before leaving. This checklist is not a score for deciding whether to trade.
Make the words your own.
Use Principle Keeper to organize your principles and repeat a selected list. Start with your own rules; shared community principles are optional.
